Daffodil International University (DIU), in collaboration with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Bangladesh, organised a seminar titled “Women Empowerment in a Changing World: Leadership, Innovation and Opportunities.” The seminar brought together academic leaders, students, and guests to discuss women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development.
The event was chaired by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University. H.E. Abdullah Ali Al Hamoudi, Ambassador of the UAE to Bangladesh, attended as the Chief Guest, while international entrepreneur and business consultant Laura Acker delivered the keynote address. Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Acting Vice Chancellor of DIU, along with faculty members and students, also attended the programme.
The discussions highlighted the importance of creating greater opportunities for women to develop leadership skills, pursue entrepreneurship, and contribute to innovation. The seminar also reflected the growing academic relationship between DIU and the UAE.
A key part of the event was the presentation of DIU RAK Campus, the first overseas branch campus established by a Bangladeshi university. The initiative reflects DIU’s efforts to expand international academic opportunities and strengthen educational collaboration between Bangladesh and other countries.
