During the Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan had the opportunity to meet with the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Tareq Rahman, at the Daffodil Computers Ltd. (DCL) pavilion. The discussion focused on the country's growing technology ecosystem, innovation, and the development of a skilled workforce.

Dr. Khan highlighted several student-led innovation projects, including AI-based solutions and technology-driven approaches to addressing real-world challenges. The Honorable Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for these initiatives and encouraged continued efforts to foster innovation among young people. He also recognized the potential of university students and startups to develop practical and cost-effective technological solutions for national development.

The meeting also featured discussions on Daffodil Computers' "Made in Bangladesh" laptop manufacturing initiative. The Prime Minister praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of promoting locally developed technology products in international markets.

During the interaction, Dr. Khan invited the Honorable Prime Minister to visit the Daffodil Computers manufacturing facility at Kaliakair Hi-Tech Park. The invitation was received positively. He also proposed reactivating the Prime Minister's ICT Task Force to further strengthen the country's technology sector. Having previously served as a member of the task force during 2002–2003, Dr. Khan shared his perspective on the value of coordinated efforts between government, academia, and industry.

Dr. Khan believes that stronger collaboration among these sectors will play a vital role in advancing Bangladesh's transition toward an innovation-driven, technology-enabled, and knowledge-based economy.
